On July 14, the Cambridge wing of MAPS celebrated The French Day with great fervour, enthusiasm and spirit.
The celebrations commenced with a special assembly with students singing the French Greeting Song and enlightening the audience with the importance of Bastille Day, the Independence Day of France with a role-play marking the occasion.
To connect students with real-world culture, a livestream of the Bastille Day celebrations in France was screened. Students watched the grand military parade on the Champs-Élysées in Paris, along with the colourful festivities that mark this important day. This created a sense of global connection. The event concluded with a French Quiz that tested students’ knowledge of France’s geography, monuments, and cuisine and singing of the French National Anthem.
