PPA: WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY

PPA: WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY

A special assembly was conducted to observe World Humanitarian Day with the theme “Helping Hands”, focusing on the importance of kindness, compassion, empathy and helping others. The assembly aimed to help young learners understand the meaning of the word “Humanitarian” through simple, meaningful and relatable acts of kindness. The programme began with a prayer, followed by an interactive presentation in which the children explained the meaning of “Humanitarian” through small enactments. The students portrayed simple acts of kindness and helpfulness that can be practised at school and at home. They also presented acts of helping the environment and showing concern for nature. The assembly then featured a lively Community Helpers Parade, where the children dressed up as different community helpers and highlighted how these individuals selflessly serve and help people in society. The programme concluded with an energetic dance performance on “Helping Hands”, which beautifully reinforced the message of kindness, care and empathising with others. The teacher reinforced that being humanitarian does not always mean doing something big, it begins with small acts of kindness and with this everyone can make a positive difference.
